What is Iridology or Iris Analysis?

Iridology is the study, science and practice of analyzing the iris of the eye, the most complex external tissue structure of the human anatomy. It is a gentle, non-invasive way of identifying inherited strengths and deficiencies in the body.

The iris is connected to every organ and tissue of the body by way of the brain and nervous system and is in direct contact with the bioenergetic, biochemical, structural, hormonal, and metabolic processes of the body via the nerves, blood vessels, muscle fibers, and lymph.  It is used to accurately assess both physical and emotional patterns and weaknesses. Through iris analysis areas of the body that lack the vitality to resist illness can be determined and supported through good nutrition and other naturopathic methods. Iridology shows genetic predispositions. This is especially valuable in working with children.

Iridology can be used as an important tool to discern potential structural and functional imbalances within the body by all trained health care professionals.  

The iris will alert to the early signs of approaching disease.  As the evaluations are made, and the stress conditions understood, proper corrective measures can be applied.  The body can then more easily adjust.  a comprehensive program for each individual using a holistic approach for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health, nutrition, cleansing, herbs, supplements, flower essences, and other modalities which may be recommended to guide the individual toward optimal wellness.

Iri and iris come from the Greek name of the goddess of the rainbow, Iris. The Greeks noted eyes come in many, many colors. And ology also comes from the Greek, meaning study of. Literally translated, iridology means the study of the coloration of the eye.  Iridology cannot detect a specific disease, but, can tell an individual if they have over or under activity in specific areas of the body. For example, an under-active pancreas might indicate a diabetic condition.  By means of this art / science, an iridologist (one who studies the coloration and fiber structure of the eye) can tell an individual his/her inherited and acquired tendencies towards health and disease, his current condition in general, and the state of every organ in particular.
